You meet work and life with …
Inspiration: you inspire and lead others (sometimes accidentally)
Courage: you move forward in spite of your fear
Passion: there is no question about your devotion
Hope: you do not give up on possibility
Action: coaxing, reminding or cajoling are not required
… and you are at an opportune moment.
Still not sure?

Kairos Moments
A kairos moment is the right, opportune time when conditions are right for crucial action or decisions. Consider how you might answer this question: “What brings you to coaching?” Perhaps one or more of the statements below feels true to you.
When describing your work or life situation, one or multiple of these sound familiar:
- You’ve experienced moments that felt magical, but those moments are rare.
- Life is pretty good, but sometimes it feels like something is missing.
- There’s a pattern you want to change, and you aren’t sure where to start.
- You have courage and vision to meet your next opportunity, and you want someone with you on the journey.
- You’ve found yourself leading others, sometimes in unexpected ways:
- Others look to you to lead them even though you didn’t ask them to follow you.
- In the pursuit of your own passions, others joined you, then began to look to you for their path forward.
- You’ve found yourself (now or previously) in a role or title that was more prominent than you expected.
Here are some common statements made by clients at the beginning of coaching engagements:
- “Everything I do works, and it even looks easy, but it feels difficult. I want it to actually feel easy…”
- “Life and work are both great, especially from an outsider’s perspective, but there’s something that doesn’t feel right to me…”
- “I enjoy everything I do. I have a lot of interests and I’m good at most things. But I’m worn out…”
- “I’ve got a decision to make. There are multiple promising options and I’m not sure how I’ll decide what to do…”
- “There’s a pattern that isn’t serving me and I want to shift it but I’m not sure where to start…”
- “I’m working on a new skill and I want some support…”
- “I’ve have a vision for my work and my life and I want support in getting there…”
Coaching Topics
Below is a list of common coaching topics. You may find one or multiple that feel familiar.
- Leadership (vs. management, inspiring others, leading through intent vs. direction)
- Boundaries (creating, speaking, living)
- Building specific skills and competencies
- Time Management and productivity (GSD, prioritization, finding focus)
- Relationships (family, friends, coworkers)
- Emotional Wellness: triggers & expression
- Agile (values, principles, practices, coaching)
- Communication
- Vision creation & goal setting
- Imposter syndrome
- Values-based decision-making
Are you ready?
Perhaps you’re not sure if you’re ready for coaching. Self-reflection can be a great place to start, even before contacting a coach.
Consider these ten statements:
- I am willing to be as open as possible during coaching conversations in service to the outcomes and shifts I want to create.
- I am open to the idea that challenges and patterns I’m experiencing in one aspect of my life are likely showing up in other areas.
- I acknowledge that there are stories and beliefs that may not be serving me and I’m ready to let go of them.
- I’m not too afraid to make mistakes or fail.
- I am willing to learn and practice with techniques and habits that will help me identify and deal with blind spots and difficulties.
- I will not complain or blame others for my circumstances.
- I recognize the work to shift or change my life is mine to do, and I’m truly ready to make an investment to create more magic in my life and work.
- I am willing to work beyond a single goal and build lasting competence that applied broadly in my life, work, relationships, and health.
- I understand and I’m ready to be fully engaged (head, heart, and body) in the coaching process and practices.
- I understand that lasting change takes time. I’m ready to dedicate myself to our work together for a period (a minimum of several months, up to a year) to get the outcomes I want.
How many of these statements feel true to you?
- If 9-10 were Yes: You’re absolutely ready! Book an initial alchemy conversation and let’s connect.
- If 7-8 were Yes: You’re ready for coaching. Consider which statements felt like a “no” to you and what might be required to turn them into a “yes.” I’d love to jump on an initial alchemy conversation to discuss.
- If 5-6 were Yes: You may be ready depending on your willingness to change each “no” to a “yes.” I invite you to reflect on each statement and get curious about what holds you back. Feel free to book an initial alchemy conversation if you’d like to explore with me.
- If fewer than 5 were Yes: It’s not quite time for coaching but it doesn’t mean you’ll never be ready. Whenever you do feel ready, I’ll be here.
Ultimately, only you can decide if you’re ready for coaching. As a client, you must have greater desire to create magic in your own life than your coach. You’ll also need to show up with a willingness to attend to areas of your life that you may have ignored or avoided in the past. Most importantly, you need to be open to new concepts, feelings, ideas, and possibilities.

Client Stories
Being coached by Sarah has led to more exercises in self reflection, and discovery of myself. She was able to help connect thoughts with seemingly mundane details. In a very busy time in my life, she was able to come in, help me through issues, and give me clarity on the new direction I was taking. I will be reaching out to Sarah again for coaching.
Working with Sarah has been a pleasure. I have ADHD, so at the start, I sent some articles to read from an excellent site, and she uses them well to map them to development metaphors, activities, etc. Our discussions feel very authentic, and from the very beginning she was spot on in pointing out things I hadn’t been able to articulate. She’s been accommodating when schedule changes are needed, and my manager says she’s seen me improve significantly, to the point that she suggested that I continue working with Sarah.
The evolving metaphors in the development plan work very well, and I’ve actually worked with my manager to give me more space to dive deep into the things I’m good at and have less (what feels like) random stuff flying at me at all times of day. As someone with ADHD, that is severely derailing, so having someone coach me toward getting that resolved has made a big difference. There will always be random, unplanned stuff, but I’ve learned doing more actual planning cuts that down.
I’ve felt very seen throughout this process and Sarah has helped me to understand myself much better as well. Having her support throughout a very challenging year has helped me improve and grow immensely. My manager has commented on this and is even looking for coaching herself now. I’ve gotten opportunities and accomplished things that honestly I’m not sure I could have gotten or handled before.
As I read the development plan from Sarah, I felt as if a beautiful novel was being written about my life. It elevated the way I see myself. I could see the beauty in my struggle and the growth that would come.
I was struggling to find the skillset to change my thought pattern. The words Sarah wrote really mattered to me. I needed a new script! I needed the next chapter in my novel to be more compassionate.
I genuinely felt “seen”. It felt so wonderful to be seen (and respected) but it made me sad too, “why didn’t others see me?” Sarah helped me start to get it! The next step of daily habits helped me realize I was very in “reactive mode”…all day.
Through our work together, I began to arrive at the end of my work days with a smile on my face, and found myself spending time with my family more genuinely. It was great. I learned I needed to decompress more times a day. I saw it!
I loved the development plan, I loved what I needed to do and it sounded so simple when Sarah described it to me. I learned to give myself a little more self care and realized I had not given myself anything for years.
Sarah, thank you for your impact on my life!
I enjoyed working with Sarah as my coach for the past 6 months. Our time together has positively impacted me both personally and professionally. I am more confident in my ability to identify and articulate my feelings. This allows me to better understand what I am feeling and become more content with my decisions. I am starting to notice all the moments when I think I should do something and replace that with what I want to do.
I am exploring how to apply my professional skills of agile coaching more in my personal life by practicing agility outside of work. The metaphors Sarah has provided as lenses to look through certain aspects of my life have been helpful and I come back to them often. Sarah is very knowledgeable on appropriate resources and I now have an arsenal of tools to revisit. I would recommend Sarah as a professional, empathetic and intelligent coach.
